The engineering office riplatec was founded by Dipl.-Ing. univ. Christian Ringer. What tipped the scales was the strong demand for specialists in oat and plant-based drinks and in dairy technology. We put this knowledge straight to use for our customers' success, in Germany and abroad.

Our clients include dairies and producers of plant-based drinks, from mid-sized operations to international manufacturers.

“Mr Ringer, to us you are the oat guru.”

Two fields, one expertise

01

Plant-based drinks

Oat, almond, soy and rice drinks, from planning to running production. The focus is on oat drinks.

02

Dairy and milk technology

Processes and plants in milk processing, built on almost three decades of hands-on work.

Services

01

Planning and rebuilding plants

New build and existing

New build or rebuild during ongoing operation. We plan so that throughput and quality are right in the end.

02

Tenders and award negotiations

Procurement

We write tenders that can be compared properly, and we sit at the table during the award negotiations.

03

Development of new processes and plants

Technology consulting

You have an idea for a product or a process. We turn it into a plant that works in operation.

04

Project management

Delivery

Several trades, one schedule, one budget. We hold the project together until the plant runs.

05

Troubleshooting quality problems

Hygiene consulting

Fluctuating quality, hygiene issues, recurring complaints. We look for the cause, not the symptom.

06

Weak-point analysis

Existing production

We take a close look at your production and tell you where performance, quality or money is being lost.

At work across Europe

Satisfied customers are the best reference. Many operations work with the know-how of riplatec, in Germany and across Europe.

The focus is on oat drinks. Alongside that, we advise dairies on technical and technological questions.

You will find an overview of our project locations on the map, from Ireland to Finland. We deliberately do not name names here. We are happy to share details on individual projects on request.

in Europe for oat at industrial scale
20+
years of plant management and leadership

After training as a dairy technician and working as a journeyman, Christian Ringer completed his degree in food technology with a focus on milk technology in 1996.

Almost ten years in one of Germany's largest dairies followed, including roles in management, as quality management officer and as interim plant manager.

He then spent more than ten years as plant manager at a well-known producer of plant-based drinks made from soy, oat and rice. His work covered organizational management, commercial planning and optimization, and safeguarding product quality. In energy management projects he achieved unusually high savings.

During this time he developed the soy extraction plant to the point of patent maturity and played a key role in the oat and rice extraction process. After Oatly, this company was the second manufacturer in Europe to produce oat on an industrial scale. Christian Ringer played the key role in developing the process for it.

The engineering office riplatec grew out of this work.

DirectSens®

Measurement technology for oat drinks

In partnership with DirectSens

Anyone producing oat drinks needs to determine the sugar content reliably. The OatSens biosensor from DirectSens measures the glucose and maltose content directly in production.

The biosensor works electrochemically: enzymes on a single-use test strip convert the sugars, and the resulting current is measured by the DirectSens Reader and translated into a value.

Christian Ringer brought in his experience from oat and plant-based drink production and supports the system as a partner of DirectSens in sales.

This gives you certainty in three areas:

  • Product development
  • Process optimization
  • Quality control

Frequently asked questions

What customers ask us most often. If your question is not here, just write to us.

Do you work exclusively with oat?

The focus is on oat drinks. But we work equally with almond, soy and rice and advise dairies on milk processing.

Do you also support implementation and commissioning on site?

Yes. We accompany the work from development through planning and tendering to commissioning, and steer the project until the plant runs.

Do you help with acute quality or hygiene problems?

Yes. With fluctuating quality, hygiene issues or recurring complaints, we look for the cause, not just the symptom.

Which companies do you work for?

For dairies and producers of plant-based drinks, from mid-sized operations to international manufacturers.

Which countries do you work in?

In Germany and across Europe, from Ireland to Finland. We are happy to share details on individual projects on request.

Do you also offer analytics for oat drinks?

Yes. As a partner of DirectSens, we support the OatSens biosensor, which determines the sugar content (glucose and maltose) directly in production.
